AWS continue to develop the elasticsearch code base with Apache license. looks like they are doing good progress with the recent release. As CrateDB backend is elasticsearch, do we have any plans to move the base from elasticsearch to opensearch.

thank you for your question.
Although CrateDB is built originally on top of Elasticsearch we diverged quite a bit to better suite the CrateDB use cases. Therefore a straight up replacement won’t happen.
We do keep an eye on OpenSearch and the progress they make (e.g. attending Community Meetings, etc) and we may port over specific patches in areas where it makes sense.
